Created especially for the 1975 World Cup Tournament, the 26-year-old Navatanee Golf Club is one of Thailand's most famous.  Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr, the course -- in particular its sixth and ninth holes -- have become a golfing Mecca for first time visitors to the country.  In terms of playability, it really has something for everyone: the greens are well protected by bunkers, there is a good mix of wide and narrow fairways and water enters the fray on five of the holes.  The greens and fairways went under a through renovation three years ago in order to improve the drainage system, thus leaving the course in pristine condition.  The clubhouse, of course, also has excellent facilities.
